YIDDISH SONGS IN CONCERT VERSION FOR VOICE AND PIANO

The popularity of Yiddish songs certainly has created a need for fine piano-accompaniment since most editions of Yiddish songs only contain a melody and some (often obligatory and trivial) chord symbols. Our rendition and my arrangements are of course but one of many ways to interpret them. They are characterized as combining folk and classical elements and exploring and crossing-over the watershed between folk and classical musical language. This is an exciting area: Yiddish folk song has to remain recognizable as folk song, which it is by essence, but it can gain a lot in eloquence and expressiveness, when arranged carefully and with respect. So on request of many I decided to publish my arrangements and compositions.

Albums for voice and piano
